The Rose and Thistle Pipes and Drums is a Gosport and Portsmouth based band who have been entertaining the southern counties of England, especially Hampshire,  for many years.  As the name suggests we play the Great Highland Bagpipes, the Scottish Side Drum, Tenors and Bass.  

We are a social band (with a serious side) who believe in playing the instruments for the enjoyment obtained as well as the pleasure we receive in performing for others. Musical content and quality are very important to us, as our competition results reflect. Under the leadership of our Pipe Major Nathan Colbern, we have grown from strength to strength and look forward to continuing this achievement in the years to follow.

We are constantly on the lookout for new members, so if you have an interest in the Pipes or Drums, please give us a call as we offer training in all disciplines.  We are available to play at a variety of events including Parades, Fairs, Parties, Weddings, Carnivals, Fete's etc.  

We are able to supply any of the following to enhance your event or function.

• Full Band: 9+ Pipers, 1 Bass Drummer, Tenor and Side Drummers and a Drum Major.
• Mini-Band: 4+ Pipers, 1 Bass Drummer, Tenor Drummer and Side Drummers.
• Pipers: Numbers as requested.
• Drummers: Numbers as requested.
